FAQs
What if I have never been to therapy before?
Then I'm happy you're here and taking this step for yourself! It takes courage to reach out for help. I recognize you may have some nerves about how this process works, but my priority is to make this seamless and comfortable. I'll provide guidance and psychoeducation on the process, and we can dive in together!
How does it work? What do I have to do in sessions?
Because each person has different issues and goals for counseling, it will be different depending on the individual. I tailor my therapeutic approach to your specific needs.
How often do we meet?
Therapy is most effective when consistent and the number one predictor of the effectiveness of therapy is the relationship between client and therapist. I encourage everyone to start out meeting weekly and then we can talk about what feels best moving forward. This helps us build rapport and rhythm to work together.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are 60 minutes long.
How long will it take?
Unfortunately, this is not possible to say in a general FAQs page. Everyone’s circumstances are unique to them and the length of time counseling can take to allow you to accomplish your goals depends on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you to seek counseling in the first place.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
I do not offer in-person sessions at this time. All sessions are held via a confidential video platform.
Do you work with other genders?
Yes! While I specialize in women's issues, I work with all genders especially those who are struggling with anxiety disorders.
Do you have other specializations?
Yes! I have a great deal of experience working with healthcare professionals and the specific stressors they experience. I am passionate about providing support for this group of individuals because of the important work they do!
Additionally, I have experience working with depression, trauma, relationship and family issues.
